For over 30 years, GALLERY DIAMOND has proudly offered a trusted Lifetime Diamond Upgrade Service, giving customers the flexibility to upgrade their engagement ring diamond or certified loose diamond with confidence. Our diamond trade-in and upgrade program allows you to exchange your existing diamond for a higher value stone while maintaining the highest standards of certification, craftsmanship, and security.

Diamond Upgrade Eligibility
To qualify for the GD Diamond Upgrade Service:
The diamond must have been originally purchased from GALLERY DIAMOND.
The diamond must be certified by internationally recognized grading laboratories such as:
Gemological Institute of America(GIA)
HRD Antwerp
International Gemological Institute(IGI)
The service applies to single diamonds weighing 0.30 carats or above.
This ensures transparency, verified quality, and accurate upgrade value.
Mounted Diamonds & Engagement Ring Settings
If your diamond is mounted in a ring or jewellery setting:
You may reuse your existing setting if it is compatible with your upgraded diamond.
Our diamond specialists will assess the structure, size, and security of the setting before confirming reuse.
If suitable, we will professionally reset your new diamond into your existing ring
When a New Setting Is Required
If your original setting cannot safely accommodate the upgraded diamond:
You may choose to keep the original setting, or
Accept a credit value determined by GALLERY DIAMOND toward a new setting.
For quality assurance and craftsmanship standards, any diamond not originally set by GALLERY DIAMOND must be returned without its setting to qualify for the upgrade program.
Loose Diamond – GD Upgrade Service Terms
At GALLERY DIAMOND, our Lifetime Diamond Upgrade Service offers flexibility and long-term value for clients who have invested in certified loose diamonds.
Eligible Diamonds
The following loose diamonds qualify for the GD Upgrade Program:
Round Brilliant Cut diamondsgraded by:
Gemological Institute of America(GIA)
HRD Antwerp
International Gemological Institute(IGI)
Fancy Shape – Modified Brilliant Cut diamonds graded by GIA, HRD, or IGI.
Fancy shape diamonds are eligible for upgrade provided the new purchase is also a fancy shape modified brilliant cut diamond.
All eligible diamonds must have been originally purchased from GALLERY DIAMOND.
Diamond Revaluation & Upgrade Credit
Before enrolling in the Diamond Upgrade Program, your diamond will be professionally re-evaluated according to current GD market pricing.
Clients will receive a credit equal to 80% of the original purchase price.
The new diamond selected must be valued at a minimum of twice the original diamond’s purchase price.
This structure ensures meaningful progression in size, quality, or value when upgrading your diamond
Condition Requirements
To qualify for the GD Diamond Upgrade Service:
1. The diamond must be in its original, undamaged condition.
2. The original diamond grading report must be presented at the time of upgrade.
3. Any damage to the diamond or its grading certificate may result in disqualification from the program
Important Policy Notes
1. GALLERY DIAMOND does not provide a diamond downgrade service.
2. The Diamond Upgrade Program does not offer cash refunds.
3. Upgrade value is exclusively applied toward the purchase of a new eligible diamond.
Diamond Reports (GIA, HRD, IGI)
1. If your diamond grading report is damaged, additional charges may apply.
2. The original international diamond grading report must be returned in its original condition and be fully usable to qualify for the upgrade service
Service Availability
1. The GD Diamond Upgrade Service is valid for diamonds purchased in UK or Greece.
2. For purchases made in other countries, eligibility will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
3. The upgrade purchase must be completed in the original purchase currency
Service Availability
If your diamond has a laser inscription on the girdle, it must be clearly visible and undamaged to remain eligible for the GD Upgrade Service
Exclusions
Natural Color Diamonds and Treated Color Diamonds are not eligible for the Upgrade Service
